At Aspire Physiotherapy, care is all about you, my story helps to explain why.

As a young soldier I was fortunate to be able to pit my fitness and mental toughness against the best the world has to offer. Sadly, pushing myself to join an elite unit I succumbed to injury and was introduced to physiotherapy.

I have since learned that disc prolapses are common, but for the first time in my life, at the peak of my fitness, and at 26 years old, I was incapacitated by injury and pain and did not know what to do.

My journey back from injury was long and difficult. My identity, as an impervious infantry soldier had changed, and I had changed too.

My rehabilitation was slow, and my pain was persistent.  Under the care of a physiotherapist and a coach I learned to move again. This process was tough, and I had a feeling I had to help other people to get through similar situations.

On my journey over the last two decades, I qualified as a personal trainer and a sports massage therapist, later, came a degree in physiotherapy, then more experience and a master's degree in sports and exercise medicine.

Later still, and whilst working in primary care with GPs, I gained post-graduate certificates and diplomas in prescribing and injecting medications.

Since those early days It's been a wild ride, my back doesn't hurt anymore, I have swum, cycled, run, powerlifted, and competed in weightlifting, more importantly my fearlessness has returned.

I made it back from injury, I can help you back too.
