Running performance

Running is a sport that is often synonymous with injuries, but this shouldn't be the case - just look at top athletes and the miles that they cover and the small incidence of injury they suffer.  The biggest difference between an athlete and most runners is the level physical preparation that they undertake for running.  This can make the biggest difference not only in avoiding injury but also in performance increases.  For runners we are able to provide:

  • Injury diagnosis, treatment & recovery
  • Physical training for injury resistance
  • Physical training for performance improvement

Injury assessment and rehabilitation is at standard physiotherapy rates.

at aspire physiotherapy we have a unique team of physiotherapist, sports scientist, personal trainers and ultra runners!  As such we can help injured runners become fit again and then give them the best possible chances of injury proofing them.  We can also work on performance increases form any level of running from Parkrun all the way to 100 mile ultra marathon!

All above running coaching is priced at £30 per hour or you can buy the 'Complete Running' package. 

What's in the Complete Running package?

  • Full biomechanical screening and assessment with an aspire physiotherapist
  • Prehab / corrective exercise program
  • Gym program with an aspire physiotherapy sports scientist.  This is a progressive program that will enhance your running.  You will have a 1 hour long gym session in which all the exercises are explained to you so that you know exactly what you are doing.  You will then have a 6 week program to follow.
  • 1 hour long running form coaching session with an aspire running coach.  Using slow motion filming we will assess your running form and suggest improvements and drills to make you faster and more efficient
  • 6 week progressive running program geared towards your individual goal (speed, distance or event)
  • 6 weeks of support via email.

This can be done in one day, or over a weekend if you are travelling to us.  If you are local to us we can provide this at convenient times over the course of a week.
